Ekta Sidhar
I am an Assistant Psychologist based in the West Midlands. Alongside this, I work as a Mental Health Support Worker at Cygnet, supporting adult men receiving inpatient care across Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU) and acute wards. I completed both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the University of Birmingham.
I have experience across clinical, research and voluntary settings, working with children, young people and adults. In a previous Assistant Psychologist role, I contributed to psychological support informed by CBT, DBT and mindfulness approaches, including delivering individual mindfulness sessions tailored to the person I was supporting.
I also spent two years volunteering with the Witness Service, supporting vulnerable and intimidated witnesses through the criminal justice process. Previously, as a Research Associate at the University of Birmingham, I contributed to research across mental health, trauma, memory and sexual violence.
My British Indian background has contributed to my interest in how culture, family and community can shape experiences and understandings of mental health. I am particularly interested in trauma and providing compassionate psychological support that considers the wider context of a person’s life.
At Little Bird Psychology, I work as an Assistant Psychologist supporting the delivery of child psychology services.
