Dr Natalie Henry
I am a qualified Clinical Psychologist with experience supporting individuals across the lifespan, from young people to older adults, in both physical and mental health contexts. I am particularly passionate about working with young people and their families, and I currently work in an NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) for Children in Care and Adopted Children, specialising in trauma-informed therapeutic approaches. I have experience working with neurodivergent and neurotypical young people and take a neuro-affirming approach in my work.
I offer individual therapy and enjoy working systemically with families where appropriate. I am trained in many evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Narrative Therapy and hold a foundation certificate in Systemic Thinking and Practice. I also integrate elements of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness into my work, when relevant. My approach is integrative and flexible, drawing on the methods and strategies that best fit each client’s needs, strengths and goals.
As a woman of mixed heritage, I am acutely aware of the socio-political contexts in which we live. I actively consider each individual’s personal, cultural, and social background, and I work collaboratively to create a safe, non-judgemental therapeutic space. My aim is to support young people to feel safe, seen, empowered, and understood as they work towards meaningful change.
I am fully registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council, which is the governing body for Clinical Psychologists in the UK. My registration number is PYL047232.
